Waregem is more than just the city of horses. It is also a place full of sports, culture, events, shopping, culinary delights and much more! Because the city centre is compact, there are also many things to do within walking distance of each other.
There are all kinds of different possibilities in the heart of Waregem that are worth a visit: within a mere 500 metres of Gaverbeek Hippodrome, you will find attractions including De Schakel cultural centre, the SV Zulte Waregem football stadium, an extensive equestrian sports centre, a public swimming pool, the green surroundings of the stadium ponds and Baron Casier Park, the contemporary arts platform Be-Part, a shopping centre, shopping streets and many hotels, restaurants and bars including a Michelin star-rated restaurant. A little further outside the city centre is another star-rated restaurant as well as the Flanders Field American Cemetery (WW1), a brewery at the historic farm Goed in Nieuwenhove, a golf course and the beautiful natural surroundings along the River Lys.
If you would like to discover it all for yourself, you can head out on your own along one of the walking or cycling routes that take you to all the loveliest spots. Or why not make use of one of our city guides with your family and friends?
